M6 Junction 29: Bamber Bridge Interchange – A6 Bamber Bridge

Junction 29 of the M6, known as the Bamber Bridge Interchange, is where the M6 meets the A6 / M65, for Bamber Bridge / Blackburn. The nearest town is Leyland, about 2.4 miles to the south-west, with Preston (3 miles north-west) and Penwortham (4 miles north-west) also close by. Villages right beside the junction include Bamber Bridge, Clayton Brook and Clayton Green.

Roads that meet at or beside this junction: M61, M65, A6, A49, A582, A5083, B5254, B5256, B5257, B6258. The main road at the junction is the A6.

The M65 heads east from here to Blackburn, Burnley and Colne.

From here, the drive north to junction 30 (Bamber Bridge) is about 1.3 miles and the drive south to junction 28 (Leyland) is about 1.3 miles. Junction 29 is about 116 miles from the start of the M6 at junction 1 and 94 miles from the end at junction 45.
