Contact M6 Traffic

M6 Traffic is part of our Traffic News England network. We’re always glad to hear from drivers who use the site — whether that’s feedback, a correction, or a suggestion for something you’d find useful.

You can reach us by email at info@m6traffic.co.uk.

Please note: M6 Traffic reports traffic information gathered from official sources — we can’t respond to live incidents or emergencies. In an emergency always call 999.

Why we do not take reports from drivers

We are often asked whether drivers can send in what they have seen. We have thought about it, and the answer is no — deliberately.

Everything published on this site comes from official traffic data. That means every item can be traced back to a source, and it means we are never publishing something about a road that nobody official has confirmed. A single unverified report — however well meant — could send drivers the wrong way, or tell somebody a lane is blocked when it is not.

There is a second reason, and it is about your safety. We would rather nobody was reaching for a phone on the M6 to tell us something. If you have seen something that needs attention, the people to tell are the emergency services, not us.

What we would genuinely like to hear about

In an emergency, always call 999. To report a problem on the motorway itself, National Highways operates a 24-hour customer contact centre.

M6traffic.co.uk is dedicated to the latest M6 traffic news, checked every five minutes, 24 hours a day. Heading for Manchester? See M60 Traffic for Manchester’s orbital motorway. The M6 meets the M5 near Birmingham — see M5 Traffic.
